What is in Our Clothes?
100% ORGANIC COTTON
From day one, we have chosen to only use 100% organic cotton. Our cotton comes from non-genetically modified seeds. Additionally, no chemical pesticide or fertilizer was used in the process.
Our organic cotton is certified with GOTS. The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is one of the world's most prominent and strict standards for organic fabrics. Therefore, we are very proud to have this certification on our products.
RECYCLED COTTON
Our cotton is not only 100% organic, we also use recycled cotton. By using recycled cotton, we seek to minimize waste on production level. Our partner makes use of fabric cutting waste. This waste is utilised to create new products.
Our recycled cotton has a GRS-certification. This ensures transparency regarding traceability and compliance with environmental requirements. All GRS-certified fabrics are verified to meet the ISO definition of recycled. A GRS-certification also guarantees responsible production, as no chemicals harmful to the environment are allowed.
RECYCLED POLYESTER
Our T-shirts consist of 95% organic cotton, but in order to add stability to our sweatshirts, we incorporate a small percentage of recycled polyester. By recycling polyester, we try to tackle plastic waste as much as we can. New polyester is known to release microplastics when washed, but since we use recycled polyester, much fewer microplastics end up in the environment.
Just like recycled cotton, the recycled polyester is also GRS-certified. We manufacture our recycled polyester from PET-bottles. These can be traced back mainly to China, where we source bottles that would otherwise end up as landfill or in the oceans.
RECYCLED NYLON
Some of our garments contain a small percentage of recycled nylon. We use pre-consumer recycled nylon for this, which comes from industrial waste nylon yarn.
Nylon helps make a garment stronger and increases its lifespan. At the same time, it is also light and soft, making it a good addition to our products.
